MINERALS MATTER: SUSTAINABLE FUTURES
Thursday 30th March 2023
09.30 – 13.00, Enterprise Centre, Derby
This free-to-attend event is a collaboration between the Centre for Mineral Products at the University of Derby, the Institute of Quarrying and the Institute of Asphalt Technologies, part of the Derbyshire Festival of Business.
Mineral Products, such as crushed rock, sand and gravel, asphalt, concrete, cement and bricks, are both essential to our economy, and to our quality of life. Currently, many sectors face recruitment challenges, and the Mineral Products Industry is no exception. Also, in common with all other sectors the Mineral Products Industry faces significant challenges in the transition to a net zero economy. But, within the challenge lies opportunity – the opportunity for the next generation to innovate, introduce new thinking, transform historical manufacturing methods and deliver sustainable solutions.
Join this event, which will showcase opportunity, innovation and research within the Mineral Products sector over three vital areas:
- Decarbonisation
- Biodiversity and Natural Regeneration
- The Circular Economy
