The Low Carbon Business Network supports the DE-Carbonise project which is a collaboration between the University of Derby, Derby City and Derbyshire County Councils from November 2019 for 3 years. The project provides a comprehensive programme of assistance to SMEs seeking to reduce their carbon emissions.

Are you a small or medium sized business, based in the D2N2 region that is keen to radically improve your environmental performance? Does your production process or supply chain have great potential to improve its energy, resource or environmental efficiency? Would you like to work with other ‘pro-environmental’ businesses and University of Derby experts to make the shift to sustainable business practices that will help you cut costs, win more business and attract and retain top quality staff?

If so, as part of the DE-Carbonise project, the University of Derby Business School offers two support programmes: De-Carbonised Operations and De-Carbonised Supply Chains:

 

De-Carbonised Operations

Overview

The De-Carbonised Operations programme offers a tailored programme for SMEs to support reduction of their operational carbon emissions resulting in better environmental performance and positive environmental impact.

Offer

  • Dedicated one-to-one mentorship to support de-carbonisation in operations
  • Initial Carbon assessment
  • SME-driven Workshops on topics such as Carbon in Operations, Circularity, Energy Efficiency and Waste Management.
  • Access to pool of experts in De-carbonised Operations
  • Access to a shared learning space

Overview

The Sustainable Supply Chain project offers a comprehensive programme of assistance for SMEs seeking to reduce their carbon emissions through their supply chain.

  • Workshops on topics such as Green Supply Chain, Circularity and Continuous Improvement
  • Carbon assessment across the Supply Chain
  • Access to pool of experts in Sustainable Supply Chains
